Stephen Greenston

Recently retired after a long and illustrious career as principal dancer with The Stuttgart Ballet, Stephen Greenston has been working as a free-lance artist in many fields: as choreographer, lecturer, teacher and manager.
As choreographer, his work is known on both sides of the Atlantic. His ballets can be found in the repertoires of The Memphis Ballet, The Washington Ballet and The Stuttgart Ballet to name but a few, and they have been performed in The Kennedy Center as well as The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, at the Olympics in Salt Lake City and most recently, in the Danny Kaye Playhouse Theater in N.Y.
As lecturer and teacher, Mr. Greenston is in demand in both Europe and the States on both the professional and university levels. He is a frequent guest at such institutions as The Royal Ballet School (London), The John Cranko School (Stuttgart), both The Frankfurt and Mannheim State Academies, Goucher College (Baltimore), Towson University (Baltimore) and The Universities of Michigan and California among others. His lecture/demonstrations have become very popular in Germany.
As a manager, Stephen Greenston has continuously organized ballet tours and performances; Recently, and for the third time, he brought The Graduate Tour of The Royal Ballet School to Germany
For all of his endeavors, Mr. Greenston has an enormous wealth of experience to draw from: a degree from The American University (Washington, D.C.), several years as soloist with The National Ballet of Canada and many years as principal dancer with The Stuttgart Ballet. He has toured to most of the world, worked personally with the greatest choreographers of our time, including MacMillan, Béjart, Forsythe, Neumeier, Kylian, Bintley and North. In 1998, he was commissioned to choreograph a ballet in honor of the tenth anniversary of The Vail Valley Festival. Also versed in musical theater, Stephen Greenston is an all-round artist, respected and sought after in many parts of the world. In the summer of 2004, he was issued a U. S. patent for a „Prop Wash Deflector“. In 2007, he earned a diploma as a Pilates trainer and has most recently worked with the cast of the musical, „We Will Rock You“ in Stuttgart. In addition, Mr.Greenston is an accomplished Argentine Tango dancer and frequently offers workshops for tango dancers.
